Plan Description

Designed in Modern Farmhouse style, this oversized two-car detached garage has an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) above. The 896 sq. ft. garage has plenty of daylight and plenty of room for workspace and storage. Entrance to the 758 sq. ft. ADU is at the rear of the garage, via a covered stairway and covered entry area on the upper-level deck. The height of the sloped ceiling in the living/dining area adds volume to the space, making it feel larger. The U-shaped kitchen, though compact, still features a breakfast bar and a pantry. Public and private spaces are separated by a doorway into a short hall. In addition to the single bedroom, this ADU has a flex space which could be a home office, a hobby room, an exercise room, or whatever the occupant chooses to do with it. There is no closet, but the window allows for the code required egress, so the flex space could also be used for a guest. The bathroom has room for a stacked washer and dryer.
